An Artistic Revolution in Concretedec2.jpg (27341 bytes)

We are at the threshold of a new revolution, the ability to alter new and existing concrete artistically! Design and aesthetic worthiness have adorned architecture in every period of history. The current demand has evolved in widespread techniques and avant-garde technologies in our industry. The Romans perfected concrete’s architectural usage for almost 2000 years. Concrete has been molded, poured, and plastered to countless shapes and compositions. In itself, concrete revolutionized the term "structure."

Carpet, tile, wood, and wall treatments alike, are competing with the usage of concrete as an alternative medium because concrete has proven to be artistically decorative and environmentally advantageous! Prestige Decora™ provided St. Gregory’s Church with an alternative scheme that depicted the aesthetic ambience reflected in the compositions of the Renaissance era.

In the style of a true fresco, Prestige Decora™ was applieddec4.jpg (21631 bytes) vertically and horizontally. The texture and soft luminosity of the surface was neither glossy nor dull. Intricate design and sandblasting generated beautiful details as illustrated below in the "Stations of the Cross." Prestige Decora™ may be neglected, abused or cherished. As in the detail of a figure from Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel, if some cracks were apparent, this only provided a vital element in the details.

In a unique combination of artistic and technical expertise, Prestige Concrete’s craftsmen were proficient in the proper do’s and don’ts of application and process. With never-ending R & D, Prestige Concrete stands on the adage that "Prestige Decora™ is for the brave at heart."

For Hyndman & Hyndman Architects, Prestige Decora™ provided the cornerstone for artistic expression. From the intricate labyrinth for meditation, to the sweeping grandeur of the waterfall, to the stately (yet gentle) atmosphere in the sanctuary, St. Gregory’s encompasses the superior workmanship and artistic talents of diverse craftsmen. This project gave the community of Scripps Ranch a haven that provided a sense of peaceful magnificence. For more pictures of St. Gregory's, please refer to our Photos page.
